On the other hand a solid and experienced company might guarantee a secure long term income, unfortunately at a much lower and less exciting growth rate.
IDEALLY, THE COMPANY OF CHOICE SHOULD PROVIDE BOTH!
In addition we'd also like to know who is manufacturing our products, what are the conditions and quality controls, the integrity of the company and the top leader's vision for the future.

TRENDS: You better represent products which are in high demand. No matter how great they might be, if they are out of the trend (such as music cassettes in times of MP3 players, or analog film in time of digital fotography) you won't be very successful with your business in the future. Health and wellness is the next trillion $ industry.

TIMING:76 Million Babyboomers getting close to retirement age. Their interest in health, as well as wealth for a peaceful retirement drives many industries.

COMPENSATION: There are mainly two groups of comp plans: The horizontal wide ones only pay a few levels deep, the vertical binary ones pay infinite deep but often flush volume on the strong side. The more ranks a plan offers and the more complicated the requirements to qualify for a position, the more money a company saves on payout.

SYSTEM: Effective support is the most overseen component. Most are so used to missing support that they have given up on it. A STRONG SUPPORT TEAM MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE. No need to re-invent the wheel or fight alone.
If a comp plan pays 3 or 5 levels only, upline support soon fades. In binary plans all support goes to the weak side. There are usually few incentives to strengthen each of your enrolles with your maximum power. (I have heared of more than one company that punishes their distributors by adjusting their paycheck, if a downline enrollee becomes stronger than the sponsor. How stupid is that??)
